à Brigitta
a Duet
Dancing
in all its forms
cannot be excluded
from the curriculum
of all noble education;
dancing with the feet,
with ideas,
with words,
and,
need I add
that one must also
be able to dance with the
pen?
(Friedrich Nietzsche)
Dancers are instruments,
like a piano the choreographer
plays.
(George Balanchine)
Dancing with Brigitta
adds another layer to it:
Creative interaction
The dance densify itself
and gain
in refinement and complexity.
Suddenly,
the dancer-instrument-choreographer
is subject to the
creative input
of his (her) partner.
Cross-pollination ensue.
Ideas
coming to the mind,
that may feel like our
own
or
were they suggested?
Vice versa.
Who knows!
What we do know,
for sure ,
is
that they belong
to the couple
in
the eternity.
of
the eternal
present.
A window is open,
fresh air rushes in,
we suddenly breathe better,
with the music,
with our partner
and
all does clarify.
There is magic
in this improvisation,
co-writing and executing
in real time
a dance
where the lead-follow
does not work
like
a duo
but
becomes
a duet.
